Founded in 1967, the National Football League Alumni Association is the most well-known and well-respected retired player organization. A non-profit organization comprised mainly of retired National Football League players, coaches, professionals, cheerleaders, spouse and associate members. The focus of NFL Alumni is to serve, assist, and inform players in their post-NFL lives. The Association offers a variety of medical, financial, educational, and social programs to keep members and their families healthy, productive and connected.

The PGA of America is the world’s largest working sports organization, comprised of 28,000 men and women golf professionals who are the recognized experts in growing, teaching and managing the game of golf, while serving millions of people throughout its 41 PGA Sections nationwide. Since its founding in 1916, The PGA of America has enhanced its leadership position by growing the game of golf through its premier spectator events, world-class education and training programs, significant philanthropic outreach initiatives, and award-winning golf promotions.

SHELTER 37 was founded by James Washington in 1993 as a not-for-profit public benefit corporation that provides highly effective life skills, job training, and educational programs to youth in southern California.

SHELTER 37 seeks to improve the overall well-being of children and young adults whose lives have been affected or disrupted by crime, violence, or abandonment and, as a result, are more at risk of turning to gangs, crime, drugs, or becoming withdrawn, antisocial, or socially inept.

The mission of Shelter 37 was inspired by the personal journey of its founder, James Washington, whose life experiences are a story of triumph over adversity.

Under James’ leadership, Shelter 37 provides programs to address the root cause of school and personal challenges by providing guidance and support that is rooted in compassion and a deep understanding of the difficult environments in which many young Angelenos find themselves.

Shelter 37 does this by implementing a values-based, real-world curriculum that assists students in setting goals that can be immediately applied to their own lives as students, employees, parents, community leaders, and strong, empowered individuals.

El Prado Golf Course features two regulation 18-hole, par 72 championship courses: “Butterfield Stage” and “Chino Creek.” Designed by renowned architects Harry and David Rainville, each course boasts a unique personality while providing an enjoyable challenge for players of all skill levels.

Both courses are straightforward and golfer-friendly, with gently rolling fairways that make them easy to walk. The courses are dotted with hazards, bunkers, water features, and mature trees, ensuring a memorable experience. By adhering to “ready golf” guidelines, most rounds can be completed in under four hours.

The fairways and roughs at El Prado consist of a mix of grasses, predominantly Kikuyu. The greens are firm, fast, and undulating, comprising bentgrass and poa annua. Over the years, the courses have received rave reviews for the appearance and playability of their greens.

An added challenge comes with the prevailing wind, which typically starts blowing around noon. This wind alters the course conditions, affecting club selection, drying out the greens, and making them firmer and faster, offering a different experience between morning and afternoon rounds.

Surrounded by mountains, El Prado offers stunning visual entertainment. Golfers can enjoy views of snow-capped peaks at Mount Baldy and the San Bernardino Mountains. Closer to the course, players might spot Red Tail Hawks, migratory ducks, birds, Canadian geese, and even the occasional coyote.

The El Prado property features an early California/Spanish theme, with mission tiles, arched openings, large roof overhangs, and colorful patio areas. This theme reflects the area’s history, including its past as a stagecoach stop known as “Butterfield Stage,” used by early California pioneers traveling through the “Wild West.”

The character of El Prado extends to its clubhouse, where a warm and friendly welcome awaits. Visitors can enjoy the hospitality, have a drink, and dine in pleasant surroundings designed for relaxation and enjoyment.
