This panel will feature a dynamic discussion on the talent and systems- change necessary in the region to activate an innovation economy, while growing educational attainment and developing resilient skill sets for talent pipelines.

Dr. Jeannie Kim of the Riverside Community College District will present her study on the Economic Development Network analysis and the need to galvanize efforts around innovation in the region.
A focus on how places and spaces have changed and the accelerated pace our communities must reimagine retail, mixed use and other land use options with recent disruptions. What will the future of our cities and communities look like and how can we ensure the highest and best use of our existing areas?

In April 2018, the Foundation hired Ms. Decker as our new President/CEO. Over the last 27 years Ms. Decker has held leadership positions in community economic development and has specialized in rebuilding or constructing nonprofit development organizations in both urban and rural communities. Prior to joining the Foundation, Ms. Decker was the CEO of Rural Action a membership based community development corporation in Appalachian, Ohio, working to build a more just economy through leadership development, social enterprises and environmental restoration.
